For the seventh consecutive year we invite to Arctic Farrier Convention at our premises at Vinterbro. This year we have managed to get Mitch L. Taylor and Uno Yxklinten as speakers. The focus this year will be Anatomy and biomechanics. In addition, it’s going to be representatives from Mustad and Werkman present during the weekend.
Mitchell L. Taylor, CJF, DipWCF
Mitch received his Bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Western State College of Colorado in 1983, and further trained in Equine Physiology at the University of Kentucky. Here he performed many case studies of equine bone to further their understanding of biomechanics in relation to lameness. Mitch began his farrier education in 1975 and has been AFA Certified Journeyman Farrier since 1982. Today he runs Kentuky horseshoeing School. Mitch is a sought after speaker and has lectured almost all over the globe, but this is the first time he comes to Norway.
Uno Yxklinten made his career in the academy. He received a master’s degree in Engineering Physics at Chalmers in three years instead of five, which is normal. He was then hired as a graduate student and began researching surface physics.
His wife got him interested in horses 25 years ago and he has been a farrier since then. Uno has participated in farrier competitions nationally and internationally for years with very good results.
Uno has recently been and worked as a volunteer with Flying Anvil Fondation in India.
